When getting started with a project, we would want to add a bulk of them at a time. Either because you have had previous projects in Excel, or if you have exported from your PMS system to an Excel file. This article will show you have to easily import that Excel file to Maindeck.
To access this feature, go to the work order page of a specific project. In the top right corner, there is a button called "Import".
Have your Excel export ready. The first row should be your column headers, and each row below is a work order. The column headers doesn't have to match the name in the database, instead you will be allowed to match these during the importing process.
In the video below we have recorded an import process for you to see how it's done. Below, we will also describe the process in more detail.
First select the file you want to import. Then, select which sheet shall be imported, and confirm that the first row contains the column headers. You will then be asked to match the different column headers to the values in the database. Our system has AI built in to it, so it will make suggestions based on the column headers. Feel free to adjust these suggestions as appropriate.
The next thing you will see is a confirmation window, showing the different values that are to be imported. Once you confirm this the import will start, this might take a few seconds if you have a three-digit number of imports. And that's it - approximately 100 work orders imported in less than one minute!
