What is two-factor authentication (2FA) and why do we need it
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional security measure that provides an extra layer of protection for online accounts. It involves requiring users to provide two forms of identification when logging in, such as a password and a unique code generated by a mobile app, text message, or hardware token.
2FA is a good security measure because it makes it much more difficult for attackers to gain unauthorized access to accounts. Even if an attacker manages to obtain a user's password through a phishing attack or data breach, they still need the second factor to access the account. This greatly reduces the risk of account compromise and protects sensitive information such as personal data, financial information, and intellectual property.
How setup 2FA on your account
On Maindeck, click on you image in the top right corner of the screen. This will prompt a menu with several options. Please select Account settings. This is the settings for your own account on Maindeck.
On your account you will see the option "Enable two-factor authentication", by clicking on it you will see a QR code and further instructions. The QR code is to be scanned in the authentication app of your choosing. Two popular options as Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator.
